World Rhino Day celebrated on September 22

Although there are five species of rhinos living around the world, their numbers have reduced over the years. Seventy-five percent of Greater One-horned rhinos live in India. The Sumatran rhinos are very rare, with only 80 of them living in the wild today. To raise awareness about these gentle animals, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) started celebrating World Rhino Day on September 22. On this day, people visit zoos and raise funds to take care of rhinos.
