USA’s Juneteenth celebrations on June 19

June 19th is a special holiday in the USA. It is celebrated as the end of slavery in the country. For many years, Africans had to work for their masters and were treated as slaves. On June 19th, 1865, Abraham Lincoln, the President of America, said that slavery would be stopped in the country. He told African-Americans that they were free and need not work as slaves anymore. People celebrate Juneteenth with family get-togethers and vacations.
