Telangana Bans Manufacture and Sale of Pan Masala in the State

The Telangana Government has stopped the sale of pan masala and gutkha for a period of one year. Chewing of pan masala causes serious health risks like mouth cancer and other diseases. Many pan shops in Telangana have posters saying that they do not sell gutkha or pan masala items. Food safety department officials will check the shops regularly to ensure that the items are not sold.
