Sunil Chhetri announces retirement from international football

Indian football team captain Sunil Chhetri said that he will retire from international football after the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier to be held next month. Chhetri has scored 94 international goals for India. It makes him the 3^rd highest international goal scorer after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Chhetri is also India's top goal scorer who played 150 internationals since 2005.
