Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins on October 2

Jewish people around the world celebrate their two-day Rosh Hashanah festival. It is the Jewish New Year, observed from October 2–4, 2024. People visit the synagogue or temple and hold prayers. They blow on a curved ram’s horn and eat a festive meal, which includes pomegranates and apples dipped in honey. The fruit is eaten with the hope of a bright and prosperous New Year.
