Summer Olympics begin on 26 July in Paris, France. 2,800 years ago, the first Olympic Games were played in Olympia, Greece. As a practice, the Olympic Torch is lit in Greece and carried to the country where the Games are to be held. This year, the torch was lit on 16 April in Olympia. The torch and an olive branch will be carried by torchbearers who will travel 4,828 kilometres and across three oceans before they reach Paris.
