British-Canadian Geoffrey Hinton and US scientist John Hopfield won the Nobel Prize in Physics. They have used tools from physics to make developments in artificial intelligence (AI). John Hopfield made a computer network to store patterns. Geoffrey Hinton created a network that could learn from these patterns. The scientists say that although AI is useful, we should be careful about its dangers too.
