Mooncakes and Mid-Autumn Festival in China

The harvest celebration of Mid-Autumn or Mooncake Festival was celebrated in China on September 17. It's an important festival in which Chinese people make pastries called mooncakes. The cakes are small and round like the Moon and filled with sweet bean paste or egg yolk. The festival is connected to the story of Chang’e, who turned into a Goddess and lived on the Moon along with her pet rabbit, Yu Tu.
