Maharashtra announces free education for EWS, OBC girls

The Government of Maharashtra said that girls belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) will get free education. Students whose families have a yearly income of Rs 8 lakhs or less will be eligible for this scheme. Poor boys and girls who do not have parents need not pay their exam and tuition fees as well. The announcement was made during a meeting with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
