From 2019 to 2024, some Indian cities have reduced their PM 2.5 pollution levels. The National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) cities have reduced pollution by 24 percent. PM 2.5 is a kind of air pollution that is caused by very tiny particles that float in the air. They are produced by burning fuels and gases let out by vehicles on the roads. NCAP aims to reduce 40 percent of pollution by 2026.
