India holds the world’s largest election

India’s Lok Sabha elections are held from April 19-June 1st, 2024. Out of more than 140 crore people who live in India, 96.9 crore will cast their votes. India is the most populated country, so elections will be the biggest in the world. Elephants were used to carry electronic voting machines (EVMs) to polling stations in faraway towns. A polling station is set up at a height of 4,650 meters in the Himalayan Mountain ranges, too.
