Hot summer begins in the Northern Hemisphere

Summer months or summer solstice begin on June 20th in the Northern Hemisphere, which is the top half of the Earth. We know that the Earth is slanted as it rotates on its axis. During the summer solstice, the Northern Hemisphere slopes towards the Sun. As the Sun shines directly overhead, days are longer and nights are shorter here. Solstice is a time when one of the Earth’s poles is tilted towards the Sun.
