Chagos Island returned to Mauritius

Mauritius and the United Kingdom reached an agreement on Chagos Island. From 1814, the island was under the control of the UK, although Mauritius tried to get the island back. On October 3rd, 2024, the UK and Mauritius made an agreement. The UK agreed to return the island to Mauritius. However, the UK’s military base will remain in Diego Garcia, which is the largest of Chagos’ Islands. Hereafter, Mauritius can begin to occupy Chagos Islands peacefully.
