Africa celebrates Africa Day on May 25

Africa Day or African Unity Day is celebrated as a National Holiday in Africa. On May 25th, 1963, leaders from 30 African states formed the Organization of African Unity (OAU). Their aim was to bring independence to the African countries. Today, 55 countries are part of the OAU. People celebrate the day with concerts, festivities, youth campaigns, and local events like storytelling, dances, feasts, and seminars.
